CALL FOR MENTORSHIP

Do you remember the early days of living with asthma? Now it's time to use that experience to guide a family.

The Living with Asthma Association is launching a Mentorship Program for Families of Newly Diagnosed Children and is seeking volunteer mentors.

Who are we looking for?
• Parents who have a child with asthma and have experienced this process.
• Young people living with asthma who want to share their experiences.

What will you do as a mentor?
• You will be paired with a family that has recently received a diagnosis and you will listen to them.
• You will share your experiences regarding school, daily life, and social life.
• You will be there for them during the initial period of uncertainty.

• Participation is voluntary. No fees are offered.

FAMILY APPEAL

Has your child recently been diagnosed with asthma? You're not alone.

An asthma diagnosis initially raises many questions: How do I use an inhaler? What should I tell the school? Can my child play sports? What should I do during an asthma attack?

Through our Mentorship Program for Newly Diagnosed Families, launched by the Living with Asthma Association, we connect you with families and young people who have experienced living with asthma. Your mentor will share their experiences, listen to your questions, and be there for you during these initial steps of your journey.

What's on the program?
• One-on-one matching with an experienced family member or young mentor.
• Practical suggestions for daily life, school, and social life
• An opportunity to meet families who have gone through a similar process.

Participation is free.
